Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about e-waste pickup, environmental compliance and Ecofeld.
E-waste pickup
How do I dispose of e-waste safely in Lagos?
Book a collection with a licensed collector rather than selling to scavengers or leaving electronics with general waste. Ecofeld is registered with NESREA and LAWMA and is an appointed collector under the Federal Government’s formal e-waste programme. Book a pickup online or call us, and we confirm a collection window by phone or WhatsApp.
What electronics and appliances do you collect?
Computers and laptops, phones and tablets, TVs and monitors, fridges, air conditioners and other large appliances, batteries, UPS units and inverters, printers and copiers, servers and networking equipment, and cables and chargers. If you are not sure about an item, add it to the notes when you book.
What happens to my e-waste after you collect it?
Collected e-waste is routed to certified recyclers, where materials are recovered safely. It does not go to open burning or acid leaching, the informal methods that release toxic fumes and contaminate soil and water.
Should I delete my data before handing over devices?
Yes. Back up anything you need, sign out of your accounts, run a factory reset, and remove SIM cards and memory cards before collection. For computers, wipe or remove the hard drive if it held sensitive information.
Which areas do you collect from?
We collect across Lagos and its environs, from homes, offices, schools, hospitals and industrial sites. Our consulting work is not limited to Lagos; past projects include clients in Ibadan and abroad.
Consulting and compliance
What environmental assessments and audits do you carry out?
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for new projects, Environmental Audit (EA) of existing operations, Environmental Risk Assessment, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and air, water and environmental quality assessment. We also advise on waste management, pollution control, and health, safety and environmental management systems.
What do NESREA’s 2026 Plastic Waste Control Regulations mean for my business?
The National Environmental (Plastic Waste Control) Regulations, 2026 are built on extended producer responsibility: producers and importers who put plastic products on the Nigerian market are responsible for them after use. PET packaging must contain at least 25% recycled PET from January 2028, rising to 50% from January 2030. We help producers plan compliance and build accountable collection and recycling arrangements.
