Read the investment case

Most of Lagos’s e-waste never reaches a certified recycler.

The gap is filled by informal operators who burn cables and leach circuit boards in acid. Our licensed collection is built to replace that practice, and Nigeria’s regulation is moving the same way.

500,000
tonnes of e-waste generated in Nigeria in 2022, Africa’s third-highest (UNITAR/ITU Global E-waste Monitor)
1.1m
tonnes a year by the Raw Materials Research and Development Council’s higher estimate, before imports
500
shipping containers of used electronics arriving at Lagos ports each month, by estimate
405
tonnes recycled by Lagos State’s certified programme in 2025, up from 305 in 2023
Each square is half a percent of the e-waste Lagos is estimated to generate. By some estimates, the 405 tonnes recycled through the state’s certified programme in 2025 would not fill one.

All questions

How do I dispose of e-waste safely in Lagos?

Book a collection with a licensed collector rather than selling to scavengers or leaving electronics with general waste. Ecofeld is registered with NESREA and LAWMA and is an appointed collector under the Federal Government’s formal e-waste programme. Book a pickup online or call us, and we confirm a collection window by phone or WhatsApp.

What electronics and appliances do you collect?

Computers and laptops, phones and tablets, TVs and monitors, fridges, air conditioners and other large appliances, batteries, UPS units and inverters, printers and copiers, servers and networking equipment, and cables and chargers. If you are not sure about an item, add it to the notes when you book.

What happens to my e-waste after you collect it?

Collected e-waste is routed to certified recyclers, where materials are recovered safely. It does not go to open burning or acid leaching, the informal methods that release toxic fumes and contaminate soil and water.

Which areas do you collect from?

We collect across Lagos and its environs, from homes, offices, schools, hospitals and industrial sites. Our consulting work is not limited to Lagos; past projects include clients in Ibadan and abroad.

Is Ecofeld licensed?

Yes. Ecofeld Nigeria Limited is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (RC 1029323), the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) and the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). We are an appointed e-waste collector under the Federal Government’s formal e-waste management programme and delivered the GEF/NESREA E-Waste Recycling Project.

What environmental assessments and audits do you carry out?

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for new projects, Environmental Audit (EA) of existing operations, Environmental Risk Assessment, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and air, water and environmental quality assessment. We also advise on waste management, pollution control, and health, safety and environmental management systems.

Investing in Nigeria’s formal recycling economy

NESREA’s 2026 Plastic Waste Control Regulations bring extended producer responsibility and recycled-content mandates into force. Ecofeld already holds the licences and partnerships that compliant collection requires, and has a phased plan to extend into PET, aluminium, copper and cardboard.

  • Licensed where most operators are not CAC, NESREA and LAWMA registration and a federal collector appointment.
  • Two revenue lines, one infrastructure Client-funded consulting alongside recovery revenue that scales with volume.
  • A plan ready for funding Capital tiers, equipment specification, mapped buyers and a 12-month phased rollout.
